Filayyyy is an expression or it could be considered a form of celebration after an exciting play or move.

I created Filayyyy spontaneously during the 2014-2015 NBA Finals, at the exact moment Steph Curry put Delly (Matthew Dellavedova) in the Rinse and Repeat Cycle. And I soon noticed my family and friends stressing their vocals in an attempt to sound like me; that’s when I knew Filayyyy was special.

To summarize, “Filayyyy” is todays preferred form of commentary by integrating different vocal elements, effects and creative narration across several different sports. This approach maintains my audience’s attention because of its comedic storytelling and encourages social engagement.

Filayyyy Phrases – These phrases where created to grab attention authentically because this is just how I discuss sports on a daily.

Basketball Phrases – “Tween”, “Ain’t Nothing Over There”, “Chakuumm”, “Can I Get This 2”, “Heyyyyy-ruuuhhhhhh” , “Wooo Get Up”, “Skip Thru Dat Lane”, “Knock Down”, “I Lift”, and many more.

The Filayyyy movement represents being true to yourself, refusing to compromise your values and pursuing your goals and ambitions. The movement also focuses on supporting the youth’s positive decision making and empowering the community. I’ve always believed donating time is the most honest form of showing support and love.

I take my position and platform very seriously because I want to be a beacon of hope to those who want to better themselves and their situation. I know firsthand how hard it is to come up in the urban area as a young kid with big dream.

“As a community we have to remember that most kids in the urban area are surrounded by violence and bad influences. But if we are able to show them that good can come out of this, kids’ will start to see a positive change. I know the pressure it takes for a kid to want to be a leader instead of a follower. The path ahead can be difficult when you make the right decisions, but great role model are needed to influence change, cultural shifts and impactful transformations.” – Jesse Jones, Youth Event, 2018
